The only known complete copy of
Anders Als Die Andern [Different From The Others] - arguably the first surviving film to be explicitly about a gay relationship - has been discovered in Ukraine.
Made in Weimar Germany in 1919, this and other gay films were destroyed by the Nazis.
The
Outfest Legacy Project For LGBT Film Preservation is trying to raise $5,000 to restore, and create an educational DVD version of it, via
Kickstarter.
